  • Clogwyn Climbing Wall

    Fancy spending the day or evening practising your rock climbing? Maybe you need a venue to complete your Climbing Wall Permit? We have a fabulous indoor rock climbing wall at our Clogwyn Activity Centre in Bangor, North Wales. There is enough wall space for eight climbers and their belayers. Climb when ready! Climbing!

    N.B. The wall is free of charge when booking accommodation in either Clogwyn or Penrhyn at the same time. A discount is automatically added to your cart but you must book the wall prior to use.

  • Giant ATX 1 Mountain Bikes

    The District has a number of Mountain Bikes which are accessible by our Explorer and Network provision. They are great to use at Clogwyn and we have specialist bike trailer which you can use to transport them. All bikes come with Helmets and Safety Specs.

  • Mobile Air Rifle/Pistol Range

    Mersey Weaver  have Mobile range that can be transported to a suitable venue.

    We have available a number of NRSA qualified Instructors who can be booked, in advance, should you not have your own NRSA Instructor. Currently, they are only available by prior arrangement on evenings or weekends.  One instructor is required for every 6 shooting; however, this ratio may be adjusted depending on the age of the shooters as Cubs may need a higher ratio of supervision on the range.

  • Mobile Climbing Wall

    Why not give Rock Climbing a go? We own a 9 metre high mobile climbing wall that can accommodate up to five climbers at any one time. Included in the hire are enough harnesses, helmets, ropes and carabiners for 20 people so the whole section can have a go..

    While we can sometimes help with permit holders, the wall comes as a dry hire and you will need to arrange your own instructor(s).

    Please use this product to book the wall at Queen Charlotte’s Wood. You must also be booked in as a Day Visitor, Evening Visitor, Camper or for The Hideaway. If you wish to book the wall for use offsite you should book here

    The wall can accommodate up to five climbers at any one time. Included in the hire are enough harnesses, helmets, ropes and carabiners for 20 people so the whole section can have a go…

    While we can sometimes help with permit holders, the wall comes as a dry hire and you will need to arrange your own instructor(s). We recommend using the permit holder search functionality in Compass to find and contact permit holders.

  • Outdoor Kitchen & Campfire

    Queen Charlotte’s boasts an incredible secondary campfire circle and outdoor kitchen area close to Badger’s Rake and The Pines that visitor’s can use to cook a rustic feast!

    The renovated campfire area was constructed in 2022 in memory of the late campsite manager April Nicholas.

    As well as providing sheltered seating for at least 24 people around the campfire circle, the outdoor kitchen area comes with a traditional wood fired pizza oven, two altar style barbecues and four stainless steel work surfaces allowing you to leave your mess tent and gas stoves at home!

    It’s not just Pizza you can cook in the oven either! Why not try baking fresh bread, slow cooked meat, fish or even a full roast dinner?!

    N.B the campfire & outdoor kitchen area must be booked alongside either CampingThe HideawayThe BothyLaavuEvening Visitor or Day Visitor.

    The type of wood used for the pizza oven is very particular you must use hardwoods with a moisture content of less than 20%. Please refer to the operating manual for detailed instructions. Please ensure the kitchen and campfire circle is left tidy and immaculate for the next group.

  • QCW Main Campfire Circle

    QCW boasts  a superb campfire facility that can be used for your event. The campfire must be booked alongside either Camping The HideawayThe BothyLaavuEvening Visitor or Day Visitor. Once you have made you’re booking with associated product your booking will then be confirmed by the bookings manager.

  • Recruitment backpack – resources for events

    We have put together a group of resources which can be used to help aid recruitment at events your group host or attend.

    Each ‘backpack’ contains the following:

  • Shooting Session Self Led (District Scout Centre Range & Equipment)

    Mersey Weaver  have an indoor range located at the District Scout Centre together with a stock of equipment suitable for Cubs through to Explorer aged young people and adults.

    Your booking includes the range  with 17cm target holders and springer air rifles (Gamo Delta Fox) only.

    This booking does not include the cost of pellets and targets.  If you are not supplying your own 17cm targets and/or pellets (4.52mm) then these can be added to your order at the checkout stage or ordered separately later.

    Access to the range starts at your chosen start time and you must have cleared up and left the range by the end of your chosen end time. Therefore allow for setup and clear up time when choosing your booking start and end time.

    If you require a NRSA qualified Instructor you can book them here. Currently, they are only available by prior arrangement on evenings or weekends.  One instructor is required for every 6 scouts shooting ; however, this ratio may be adjusted depending on the age of the shooters as Cubs may need a higher ratio of supervision (e.g. 1:2 or 1:3) on the range; if you want to book range, equipment and instructor click here.
