District Open Shoot – 2024/02
The Target Sports ASU are running an “Open Shoot” which any Cub, Scout, Explorer or Young Leader can participate in. The idea behind the sessions are to give young people in the district the opportunity to have a taster of the activity. If interested they can attend the shoot regularly and train for the upcoming District and County Shooting competitions. Target shooting is an internationally-recognised sport which features in both the Commonwealth and Olympic Games and is great way for young people to learn focus, discipline and attention to detail. It is also of course extremely fun and gratifying when you hit something!
Participation in multiple open shoot events will count towards the Master at Arms badge.
Format
There will be several one hour sessions run throughout the day:
Each session can accommodate 12 participants . Each person will be limited to one time slot in order to give as many people as possible an opportunity to take part. Shooting will take place from a distance of 6 yards using 0.177 air rifle.
