Fun Crossbow Shooting Session (Instructor & Equipment)

This fun session  using fun crossbows is primarily aimed at Beavers and Cubs and can be run indoors, or outside.

The booking includes  fun crossbows with targets and services of one Target Sports ASU instructor .

Session will start with a short safety briefing for all shooters, allow 5 minute turnaround time between groups of shooters.  In a one hour booking, it is possible for between 16- 24 beavers to shoot  2 x 3  darts each if 6 fun crossbows are booked .

Are you a member of the Scout Association, Girlguiding or Mersey Weaver? Then you may be eligible for a discount! Make sure you have registered an account and if required, request the appropriate membership for your role. Volunteers in Mersey Weaver must be signed in with their Scout email account to receive their discount.

Description

Target shooting is an internationally-recognised sport which features in both the Commonwealth and Olympic Games. This is the most popular form of the sport where, as its name suggests, participants shoot at static targets in order to score points. The size of target used, and the distance over which they are shot at, varies. A round consists of firing normally ten shots. This is the number of shots that each shooter fires prior to the scores being recorded and the target collected.

This fun session is primarily aimed at Squirrels/Beavers/Cubs and involves the use of fun crossbow (Squirrels/Beavers/Cubs) which fires a plastic sucker dart.  Both are fired at a static target from a distance of 3-5m (subject to whether  indoors/outdoors).

Please note that the Instructor is only responsible for the supervision of those on the firing line, the group’s leader is responsible for the safety and discipline of those not on the firing line.

The booker will need to provide at the venue one 6ft table per 2 fun crossbows booked  for the instructors use.
