Adult Air Gun Taster Session – 2026/03

The Target Sports Activity Team are running a “Taster Session” which any Mersey Weaver Adult Volunteer  can participate in. The idea behind the sessions are to give Adult volunteers in the district the opportunity to have a taster of air gun target shooting, no experience is needed to participate.

Target shooting is an internationally-recognised sport which features in both the Commonwealth and Olympic Games and is great way  to learn focus, discipline and attention to detail. It is also of course extremely fun and gratifying when you hit something!

Shooting will take place from a distance of 6 yards using a variety of 0.177 air guns:.

• Springer rifle
• PCP rifle
• PCP pistol

Following the session, feel free about discussing how the Target Sports team can support your section programme and for those in the Scout Section running a Master-At-Arms badge course (air rifle/archery/crossbow/air pistol).

For those who  find it enjoyable and wish to take it further, then talk to our Target Sports Team Lead about joining the team.

Format

There will be several one hour sessions run throughout the afternoon:

• 1:30pm – 2:30pm
• 2:45pm – 3:45pm
• 4:00pm – 5:00pm

Each session can accommodate 10 participants . Each person will be limited to one time slot in order to give as many people as possible an opportunity to take part.

Who Can Attend?

Any Adult Volunteer in the Mersey Weaver District.

What To Wear/Bring

• Comfortable clothing
• Flat soled footwear
