    This is an entry level target rifle. The S200 Target’s .177 calibre barrel is renowned for its accuracy and with the dioptre sights fitted as standard; the shooter is fully equipped to make the most of its match winning potential. Further aiding the accuracy of the S200 Target, is a supportive, match-type stock and precision trigger, plus the recoilless consistency of the precharged pneumatic action.

    With its power set at 6 ft.lbs. the S200 Target produces over 130+ shots per charge, which is more than enough for any match, including sighting shots, and the manageable weight and perfect balance of the rifle is designed to promote on-aim stability, without tiring the shooter.

    These air rifles are only suitable for use by older Scouts, Explorers, Network and Adults. This product can only be booked by members of the Mersey Weaver Target Sports Activity Team and members of the District Shooting Squads.  They are only available for use with the approval of the District Shooting Advisor.

    The new target sports range (The Gallery) opened in Autumn 2022,  We have a stock of equipment suitable for Cubs through to Explorer aged young people and adults.

    Our NRSA qualified Instructors will run the range and provide instruction to participants.  One instructor is recommended for every 6 Scouts/Explorers shooting; however, this ratio may be adjusted depending on the age/maturity of the shooters on agreement of the Instructor. Cubs (minimum age 8) may need a higher ratio of supervision on the range (e.g. 1 instructor  plus 1 adult helper for 6 simultaneous Cubs shooting).

    The booking includes the range , springer air rifles (Gamo Delta Fox), 1 pack of 50 targets (17cm), 1 tin of 500 pellets (4.52mm) and services of one qualified NRSA Air rifle Target Sports Team member who is also RCO qualified..

    Session will start with a 10 minute safety briefing for all shooters, allow 5 minute turnaround time between groups of shooters.  Therefore in a 2 hour booking, a maximum of 3 x 30 minutes sessions is possible allowing for safety briefing and changeovers (i.e  3 sessions x 6 rifles = 18 participants).

    Note: A group of 6 shooters will typically shoot three targets of 10 shots in a session (i.e. 540 pellets and 54 targets.  Therefore we recommend purchasing additional 1 pack of rifle targets and 1 tin of 250 pellets when making the booking, unless you are providing your own consumables.

    The indicative cost above is for a 2 hour session with 6  air rifles provided.  The actual cost of you booking will be shown below once you have chosen, the number of air rifles required and your chosen your session duration.

    The booking includes the range , springer air rifles (Gamo Delta Fox Break Barrel, 0.177, 6 ftlb).

    When selecting start and fish times please ensure you include time to collect and return air rifles to our District Scout Centre;  as well as setup, tidy and close up the range.

    You must provide your own  NRSA qualified  Range Control Officer to manage the safe operation of  the range  and adequate ratio of NRSA qualified Air Rifle YPS Tutors/Instructors  to participants for instruction. All those managing and helping to deliver the session must read and copy with the Mersey Weaver Range Operating procedures and Instructions (See Safety documents section below).

    If you require 0.177 pellets and/or paper targets these must be added to your order.

    The indicative price above is for a 2 hour session which provides sufficient time to handle up to 18 participants as  3 groups of 6 simultaneous archers on the shooting line. The actual cost of your booking will be shown below after you select the number of simultaneous archers and the length of your desired session. Scout Groups/Explorer Scout Units receive a discount which is applied during checkout provided that you log in with an account that has the appropriate membership profile applied.     The target sports  range located at Queen Charlottes Wood has a covered shooting area together with a stock of equipment suitable for Beavers through to Explorer aged young people and adults.

    We have a number of Permitted Archery Instructors who can be booked subject to availability, in advance, should you not have your own Permitted Instructor. Currently, they are only available by prior arrangement in evenings or at weekends.  One instructor is required for every 6 archers shooting; however, this ratio may be adjusted depending on the age/needs of the archers (e.g. Beavers may need a higher ratio of supervision on the range). For most bookings at QCW we recommend 6 simultaneous archers.

    Each set of archers will start with a 10 minute briefing on safety and use of bow for all archers, allow 5 minute turnaround time between sets of archers.  Therefore in a 2 hour booking, 3 x 30 minutes sessions is possible allowing for safety briefing and changeovers (i.e 3 sessions x 6 bows =18 participants).

    Points of Note:

    • We require that an adult volunteer from the group stay on the range with the instructor over the course of the session.
    • Proof of parental/guardian/carer’s permission for participant to take part in the archery session is available for review by the instructor prior to the start of the session.
    • Details of any participant who is on medication and/or may require additional support must be provided well in advance of the session so that any additional support requirements can be assessed and managed.

    • Subject to the distance travelled our Instructor may charge mileage at 45p/mile, plus any toll fees.

    Fun crossbow set

    Fun crossbows fire sucker darts. You can use them for a whole range of fun activities: lots of people enjoy team games (a bit like a low-tech version of paintballing or laser tag), but you could also try target shooting to hone your accuracy.

    Everyone in Scouts can get stuck in – there aren’t age limits here. They also work in all sorts of locations: indoors, outdoors, and even in specially-designed arenas. These fun crossbows are so adaptable, so you can design an activity that suits your group perfectly.

    The indicative cost displayed above is based on 4 fun crossbow sets  for a 2 hour hire period.  Actual cost will be displayed once you have chosen number of fun crossbows to be hired along with start and end time for the hire period.  Minimum hire period is 2 hours per booked session which can be extended in 30 minute increments. Chargeable from collection through to return so ensure your booked start and finish dates& times match requested collection and return dates & times

     

  • BSA Silver Star Target Rifle

    BSA Silver Star Target Rifle

    The Silver Star PCP has been designed specifically for competition use and incorporates a host of features usually reserved for much higher priced gun with the dioptre sights fitted as standard; the shooter is fully equipped to make the most of its match winning potential. Maximum ergonomics are provided by the height adjustable cheek piece and multi adjustable butt pad which allows for individual modification both vertically and to the length of pull. Cocking the rifle is achieved almost effortlessly by pulling the new BSA “T” handle bolt back and reinserting into the breach. Additional features include a two stage adjustable match trigger, on board pressure gauge and quick fill port.

    With its power set at 6 ft.lbs. the Silver Star produces over 170 shots per charge, which is more than enough for any match, including sighting shots, and the manageable weight and perfect balance of the rifle is designed to promote on-aim stability, without tiring the shooter.

    These air rifles are only suitable for use by older Scouts, Explorers, Network and Adults. This product can only be booked by members of the Target Sports ASU or parents of shooting squad members with the approval of the District Shooting Advisor.

    The indicative cost above is based on a 2 hour session with use of 6 crossbows (simultaneous shooters on the firing line) and 1 NSRA qualified RCO/instructor.  The actual cost of your booking will be shown below once you have selected the number of crossbows/simultaneous shooters and desired session timings

    Once you have configured and submitted your booking request (by clicking the “check availability” button to put the booking in your basket and when ready go to the basket and checkout your order). Once the order is submitted we will check instructor availability for the requested date/time before confirming the booking and requesting payment.

Note Our minimum age for crossbow shooting is 10 years old. (note we do have 6 fun crossbows and targets for use by Beavers and Cubs which can be used anywhere within reason).

    The booking includes the use of the outdoor target sports range , crossbows (EK Archery Jaguar MK1 with 40lb draw weight fitted fitted red dot sight), crossbow targets suitable for use at 10m, target bosses and services of one qualified NRSA Crossbow YPS Tutor(or NRSA Club Instructor or Coach).

    Each set of shooters will start with a 5-10 minute briefing on safety and use of crossbow for all shooters, allow 5 minute turnaround time between sets of shooters.  Therefore in a 2 hour booking, 3 x 30 minutes sessions is possible allowing for safety briefing and changeovers (i.e 3 sessions x 6 crossbows = 18 participants).

  • DSC Indoor Shooting Range (Range only)

    6yd, 10yd or 10m indoor shooting range which is inside of the main hall of the District Scout Centre.  Can accommodate up to a maximum of 12 shooting at a time.

    Minimum hire period 1 hour, thereafter in 15 min blocks.  Remember to allow sufficient time in your booking for setting up and clearing away.

    User provides their own paper targets and equipment. Access to the range starts at your chosen start time and you must cleared up and left the range by the end of your chosen end time. Therefore allow for setup and clear up time when choosing your booking start and end time.
